Ultraflow Packaged Pumping Stations are pre-engineered and prefabricated systems designed for the efficient management and transportation of liquids, typically sewage or stormwater, from a lower to a higher elevation or to a distant location. These systems are compact and self-contained, often resembling a tank or enclosure that houses pumps, pipes, controls, and other necessary components for moving fluids.
The use of Ultraflow Packaged Pumping Stations is essential when it comes to the challenging task of draining sewage or stormwater from residential or commercial properties. Traditional gravity-based drainage methods might not always be feasible due to various constraints, such as the sewer or stormwater connection being at a higher level or located at the same level as the building. Additionally, obstacles like concrete slabs, rocks, and other obstructions can complicate or inflate the costs of excavation for drainage pipelines. However, these challenges are not insurmountable. The installation of an Ultraflow packaged pumping station offers a solution to transfer sewage or stormwater to the desired connection point. General Pump Company offers a comprehensive range of Ultraflow packaged pumping stations suitable for nearly any application.

Pump(s): These stations are equipped with one or more pumps, which are responsible for moving the liquid. Single, dual, triplex, or quad submersible pump(s) mounted inside the tank/pumpwell, complete with ‘in-tank’ pipework and valves.
Control System: Packaged Pumping Stations incorporate control systems that monitor liquid levels and manage the operation of the pump(s). Float switches, sensors, and control panels are typically included to ensure efficient and reliable functioning.
Pumpwell (Tank): The liquid to be pumped collects in a dedicated tank or pumpwell, often situated underground or at ground level. The tank is designed to accommodate the liquid until it reaches a certain level, triggering the pump(s) to start.
Valves: Valves are used to control the flow of liquid within the system, directing it to the appropriate destination or preventing backflow. These Valves are made from materials such as brass, cast iron, stainless steel, or plastic, with the choice of integral or separate valve chambers.
Pipework: The system includes the necessary pipes and fittings to transport the liquid from the pumpwell to the desired destination, which may be a sewer system, a stormwater drain, or another location where the liquid needs to be discharged. Pipework options available in PVC, HDPE, ABS, or Cast Iron.
Electrical Components: An electrical control panel with alarms is optional for single pump systems but mandatory for multiple pump systems, along with float level switches, probes, or ultrasonic level controls.
